31 months post relaxer

Its been a while since I did a personal update well, I am now 2 years and 7 months post relaxer and still going strong. I mention in most of my hair update that I am going for the 3 year mark and I am so close now, hooray!! . What I have found out about my hair is that is getting more and more define as it grew .  I think it could do with the fact that it's hanging more and most my products are natural. Ok, so what I have been using since my last update? Well, I have been only been using conditioner the tresemme  natural, Vo5 conditioner,  ecostyler gel and a mixture of natural oils. I find that I don't really need anything else and my hair is always well moisturized. I am surprised I could only use the little product and my hair is reacting so well to the little products . My current routine I co-wash once a week Used conditioner and then apply oil and that is it I do this once or twice a week depending on my hairstyle

Transition update #4

I really wish I could update this with some pics but have no access to my camera with those right now . If its your first time reading my blog , I have been transitioning for 2 years and 2 months now . My natural hair is really taking over  now  and its always in a stretch  state so I can really see the length . I mention in a previous post that I would like to start the curly girl method but I am really busy and have not got around to getting those new products yet . I am still hoping that I will get a chance to seek them out and receive them by this month end and be able to do some review December to early January . I have over 12 inches of natural hair growth and about 7-8 inches of relax hair to go , except for my bangs which only have about 4 inches or less . I still have not flat iron my hair but I definitely will sometime this month . I want to go for 3 years but I may cut my hair in May instead . How is your journey going ? You can see my previous update here Transitio

My go 2 bun

I am not a fan of bun! especially neat bun, I like my hair bun to look messy or like its tucked under in a messy kind of way . On these two pics below I used a clip to hold it in place , messy but still in place . The pic on the left I did give it more length to give it a pony tail impression and the other one I tuck it much more under to be sure none of my hair was touching my skin making it a more bun effect . Trying to find protective style that I like that match my personality . These two were old braid out .

Today I did another mini trim

Today I did another trim of about 2 inches . I am now 20 months post relax (hooray ) , my natural hair is crazy long and thick .  I was originally planning to go for two year transition time but since my relax hair is still pretty long (longer that my natural hair) I may go to three years without chopping just small trims until I am there .

My 2013 Protein treatment Attempt

Its been a year ( maybe almost) since my last failed protein treatment , my hair was left feeling hard and tangled . I felt I may have left it on my hair for way too long so I make a few changes to match my hair type . I used my homemade protein mix , this time I let it sit for no longer than 20 minutes , with shower cap without heat . Wash my hairt with the V05 Moisture Milks twice

How I used Each Natural / Essential Oil

Coconut Oil - I like using this as a pre-poo treatment because it really penetrating the hair shaft, nourishing your hair fro inside out . Its light on your hair and has moisturizing properties . I do pre-poo treatment once a month are whenever necessary . I do sometimes used this oil as a sealant . Olive Oil - Olive oil can be used as a natural relaxer ( Natural Hair Relaxer : Olive Oil ), I have done this  a few times and it really help my hair cuticle to lay down . It is moisturizing and its not too light on the hair , which is good when you want your hair to kinda lay down . This oil I really love it has so many great benefits,  read more Benefits of Olive Oil in Hair  . I also used this a sealant . Castor Oil - I love using castor oil on my scalp , and I also use it to make a slick pony tail and help my edges stay slick and flat since it really moisturized them .  This may takes sometime to absorbed in hair like , fine to medium strands but once it absorbed your hair stays m

How To do a Braid Out on Transition Hair

Braid outs are great transition styles as it help to blend both texture of your hair . Braid out not only blend your two texture but also keep your hair stretch that reduce single strands knots .  This is How I do my Braids Out on my transition hair . Braid Braid Out Result and definition Products I used are the same as the ones I have always used What you will need : Leave in conditioner Moisturizer Natural Oil Spray Bottle  (optional ) Whenever I am doing my Braid Out I rather do it on freshly wash hair , if not I would used my spray bottle with plain water to damp my hair by section .
